- This is for people who are new to Excel Pilates DC or new to our private instruction
- These three private Pilates sessions + Mat classes must be completed within 2 months from the date of purchase (we don’t want you to forget everything you learned in between sessions!)

Another option for beginning your Pilates education is through our Mat classes! Your first Mat class with us is free. Please contact the studio for more information or check ‘My First Pilates Mat Class’ during check out on MBO.
- Intro Level Mat, Open Level Mat + Stretch and Level 1 Mat classes are for beginners: you may start anytime
- Level 2-4 Mat classes require studio permission to join at an advanced level
Intro Level Mat is our most basic Mat class. In this class, you will discuss and learn the basic principles as well as any modifications needed to successfully execute the exercises. Most people take this class 1 time a week for 4-6 weeks before moving on to Level 1. However, it is not a prerequisite for Level 1.
Level 1 will also focus on the basic principles but will incorporate more exercises and move at a quicker pace.
In both, you will refine and define the Pilates exercises that prepare you to learn the system in a layered progression, preparing you for Level 2 Mat.
Levels 2-4 progress at increasingly advanced levels, requiring a good foundation and understanding of the exercises and flow.
